# How Joonow Trends works

**Joonow Trends** tells job seekers what the job market looks like right now. Everything is produced automatically, every day, from data Joonow has. This page explains how, so you know how much you can trust each figure.

## Who publishes it

Joonow Trends is published by **Joonow**, the job site run by Hero Tecnologia. The pieces are credited to **Joonow Dados**, the name of the system described on this page: no reporter types the numbers. To reach the team, ask for a correction or send a press question, use the [contact form](/en/contact).

## Where the figures come from

- **Open jobs.** Every morning, Joonow takes a snapshot of the open jobs it gathers from career sites and from employers' applicant tracking systems. Each job counts once, even when it shows up in more than one place. Résumé sign-ups ("talent pools") do not count as jobs.
- **What people search for.** Searches on Joonow are counted without personal data and without cookies. Only roles with many searches are shown, and no individual search ever appears.
- **Pay.** Only pay the employer posted in the listing, in the country's currency and within a plausible range. Joonow does not estimate pay. A pay range only appears with at least 10 openings that post pay.
- **Official data.** When a story cites an official agency, the source is linked.

Joonow does not copy or rewrite text from other websites.

## How the pieces are written

- **Data stories** come out when a figure really changes: a role growing in a city, an employer posting many openings in a week, a change in pay. A statistical test decides; there is no editorial calendar.
- The text may be written by **artificial intelligence**, which only receives the figures of the story and writes with placeholders instead of numbers. The system replaces each placeholder with the right figure and discards the text if any number that is not in the data appears. Then another AI checks that the text is faithful to the figures, neutral and clear; if it is not, the piece goes out with a standard text that always matches the data.
- Each piece says at the bottom whether the text was written by AI or generated from a template, and from how many openings.
- **Living pages** (who is hiring, demand vs. supply, career x-rays) are rebuilt every day at the same address.

## What is left out

- Employers that do not identify themselves ("Confidential") are not listed in "who is hiring".
- Joonow Trends never praises or criticizes employers: it only reports what the figures say.
- No forecasts, no causes the data does not show and no generic advice.
- Countries with few openings do not have their own content yet.

## Polls

Every week Joonow Trends opens a poll for job seekers. Voting requires a Joonow account (one vote per person). Results are anonymous and only show once a poll has at least 30 votes. Alongside the vote we only keep the country, state, role and level from your profile that day, to show results by group, and never a group with few votes. It is an opinion poll of people who use Joonow, not a statistical sample of the population.

## Stories

Anyone with an account and a confirmed email can share their story on four topics: how they got hired, their toughest interview, their first job and what they wish employers knew.

- **How it shows:** with your first name (or anonymous) and, if you want, your job title and city. Never your full name, email or photo.
- **Guidelines:** no names of other people, phone numbers, emails or ID numbers; bad experiences are told without naming the company; no ads, links or job requests; insults and prejudice are not published.
- **Moderation:** an AI checks every story against these guidelines. If nothing is wrong, it goes live on its own; when in doubt, a person on our team decides. Each account can send up to 3 stories a month.
- **Your control:** under "My stories" in your account you can see the status of each one and delete it whenever you want. Once deleted, the story is removed from Joonow Trends and from our database right away.
- "Me too" counts how many people related to a story, without cookies and without knowing who they are.

## Reusing the figures

Joonow Trends figures may be reused with credit to the source (CC BY 4.0 license). Every piece has a "How to cite" line and a Markdown version at the same address + `.md`.
