These terms apply to anyone who uses Joonow's public API (/api/v1) and MCP server (/mcp), with or without a key. They add to the Terms of use and the Privacy policy. By using the API or the MCP server, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use them.
The API and the MCP server are provided by HERO TECNOLOGIA LTDA, CNPJ 23.073.946/0001-83, headquartered in Brazil. This is a translation; if the versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
What the API offers
Read access to open jobs, companies with open jobs and the Joonow Job Market Index: the same data anyone sees on the website. The API does not create, change or delete anything, and it never returns personal data of job seekers. The documentation is on the For developers page.
Access keys
- Keys are free and are created in your account, under "Developers". A key is shown only once: keep it somewhere safe.
- Your key is yours. Do not publish it in open source code, apps or pages other people can read. If it leaks, revoke it and create another one.
- You are responsible for what is done with your keys.
- Without a key, the API and the MCP server also work, with lower limits per IP address.
Usage limits
- With a key: 60 calls per minute and 10,000 per day (the day resets at midnight UTC).
- Without a key: 10 calls per minute per IP on the API and 30 per minute per IP on the MCP server.
- Over the limit, the response is 429 with a
Retry-Afterheader. Limits may change; the current values are on the For developers page. - You may not get around the limits, for example with several keys or by rotating IP addresses. If you need more, contact us.
How to credit Joonow
When you show data from the API or the MCP server, you must:
- show "Jobs via Joonow" (or "Vagas via Joonow" and "Empleos vía Joonow" in Portuguese and Spanish) next to the jobs, linking to Joonow;
- use each job's link (the
urlfield) and apply link (theapplyUrlfield) as the API returns them, without replacing them; - credit the Joonow Job Market Index as "Joonow Job Market Index", linking to the edition, under the license stated on the Index page.
Do not suggest that Joonow sponsors, endorses or partners with your product without a written agreement.
What is not allowed
- Reselling the data: selling, renting, sublicensing or handing over API data to third parties, in whole or in part, as a data product, file or another API.
- Building a copy of Joonow's database or a competing job search service from the API.
- Keeping jobs for more than 24 hours without refreshing them: closed jobs must leave your product.
- Changing a job's content in a misleading way (for example, making up a salary or changing the company).
- Using the API to send spam, harass companies or recruiters, or do anything illegal.
- Collecting data from the website in bulk beyond what
robots.txtallows, getting around the usage limits, overloading the service or trying to reach anything that is not public.
Availability and changes
- The API is provided as is, without a guarantee of continuous operation. When search is down, the response is 503 with
Retry-After. - Version
v1does not change in incompatible ways. An incompatible change comes out as a new version, announced on the For developers page at least 30 days in advance. - We may suspend or revoke a key used against these terms, with or without notice, and block an IP address that abuses the service.
Privacy
- Keys are stored only as a hash; not even the Joonow team can read a key after it is created.
- We count calls per key and per day, for the limits and for the dashboard in your account. We do not keep a record of each call.
- The IP address of calls without a key is used only for the per-minute limit, in memory, and is not stored.
- Everything else follows the Privacy policy.
Liability
Jobs are posted by companies and third-party websites. Joonow does not guarantee that the information is complete or correct and is not liable for decisions based on it. You are responsible for your product and for what it shows to your users.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. The courts of São José do Rio Preto/SP have jurisdiction, unless the law guarantees another venue.
